Kenyan Gems- Kenya Bay Beach Hotel

Image
I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Kenya Bay Beach Hotel in the North Coast and it was one of the most amazing hotel experiences I have ever had. I didn't want to leave! We arrived at the hotel to friendly staff who helped us out of the taxi and into the hotel. The lobby is very glamorous with glitzy chandeliers and polished floors. Check in was efficient and staff was friendly.Need I say the prices are the best you have ever heard of. It wont break your neck or Bank, and it will definitely be worth the while. entrance Funny story, the first time I talked to Jaswinder I totally thought that he was some youngin' he sounded so full of life, you know. He is also welcoming and quite humble. Jaswinder is one of the owners of the lovely Kenya Bay Beach Hotel . The hotel is of Indian heritage so you must know that the food is to die for, from the vegetarian to the meaty dishes you will salivate. We all know Indians make killer meals. My letter of thanks- DISTANT RELATIVES KILIFI ECOLODGE

Image
Dear Mr Adam,  I recently stayed at the Distant relatives Eco Lodge on Bofa Beach from June 9th to June 12th and had one of the most satisfying hotel stays in my many years of traveling. While I was only there for four days with my lovely friend, Jane, I wish I could have prolonged my stay because of the amazing experience I had at the hotel. The staff, the banda, the recreation facilities, and the atmosphere of the hotel was above and beyond my expectations, and would just like to notify to you that your hotel is doing a very good job keeping the guests content and making them feel welcomed. The lodge is such a beauty. The weather is cool, you barely feel the heat. Names of staff I particularly remember include Thomas, who saw me through the wide range of foods available to hotel guests each day: I systematically traveled all around the world each day without ever leaving the dining table.  It was the first time I had really tasted calamari! prawns and calam...

Touring Amboseli National Park- Ol Tukai Lodge

Image
I would first like to appreciate the Maasai community, they are very warm, loving and welcoming. In addition to that, their grilled meat is to die for. You all understand how much I love meat. I really apologize to my vegetarian readers.  I went on a road trip to OLoitoktok, for those who do not know where that is , i would kindly refer you to the Kenyan map. It is a small distance to Mt. Kilimanjaro,(i know right!excitos!) The tallest mountain in Africa, and within Amboseli National park which is well known for the elephants.    The peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, snowy as ever. We did not get to see as many as I had wished to see, reason being we stayed only two days, but we managed to see these two strutting around. Here are a number of photos I took while i was there. I really hope you love it. . the hotel is something out of this world The lovely Kenyan giraffes A swimming pool in the bush Well until next time. CIAO. Mtete...

A ran from the norm.

Well hello to you too lovelies, it’s been forever hasn’t it? Happy New month to you all, So I have been gone for days and I have seen and heard so much that I want to share. God! How beautiful life can be when you let it, you won’t imagine how many blissful and poignant moments I embraced, but am still stronger than I was yesterday.*yes, that’s how I put it nowadays*. Jayne* calls me a few days ago with that voice she always got when she is troubled, “Sly, do you have time to chat?’ actually I probably would have turned her down because I wasn’t in that good mood myself, but let’s just say my conscience didn’t let me. So she comes to my room, I look at this girl’s face and all I can see is desolation and disappointment. Just like anyone of us all she is scared of the worst. If it was at our knowledge that the things we do or are done to us are bound to fail would we ever do them? I don’t think so. I have learnt not to expect things to be done my way. I have learnt to compromise wit...

Visiting Naivasha - Oloiden Camp Kongoni

Image
It's a Friday evening and you are really tired from all that office work, you need a breather.... Naivasha Kongoni is the place to be. I am a sucker for camping  so this is not for the fainthearted but then I have something for you too if you like the beautiful lake view but hate the cold and sleeping under the stars. Fisherman's Camp has rooms too if you are for that kind of thing.  Oloiden Camp is very cost friendly and the waiters and staff are amazing and understanding. For those with kids worry not, Oloiden got you!  Well for us those who love camping. Oloiden is beautiful, the Sunrise is to die for, the place is serene with all the calmness of the lake if that even makes sense. It is only a few minutes away from hell's gate and the geothermal spa! Talk about perks!  Of course I'll share some photos just to show you how much you've been missing. Plus you get to eat fish....fresh fish! yummy in my tummy! campfire sunrise by the lake now...

Howdy readers!!!! Over the month of January and February i had the opportunity to visit Nyali, Mombasa and beautiful and I found the loveliest hotel/ hostel. TULIA HOUSE BACKPACKERS Are you looking for a cost friendly place to stay in Mombasa and you are on a tight budget? this is the place. My stay at Tulia was so much fun! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.  They were flexible in allowing me to extend my stay by the day to accommodate my go-with-the-flow travel style. They also showed me a fantastic time in Mombasa. I had lots of long and fun nights, this meant no sleep but no complaints! The hostel itself is nice - food is good, pool is refreshing for the insanely hot days, and many places to lounge and hang out. I can't wait to come back again and visit my new friends :) A lounging area with very good wifi ;-) for the people like me who would not live without the internet.
